Catkin in Ice | Mesmerising Moments

Ice cold temperature stings my skin

Crackly leaves under my boots

Musk scent in the air

Stillness holds the woodland

in its calm grip

River full of diamond ice

Every twig suspended in time

Winter arrives…

Today’s photo and Mesmerising Moment is by Anne Kingston. She says “it was meaningful moment for me when I saw the little catkin suspended in this beautiful ice sculpture.”

Anne teaches and performs Middle Eastern dance throughout the UK and is a founder of the Just Because charity that aims to raise funds and promote awareness, prevention and early detection of breast cancer for women in Egypt. To Anne, it is a matter of life and dance.

You can see more of Anne’s photography on her Blipfoto site.
