Solstice Ice | Mesmerising Moments

Immersed in the tiny caverns of blueness, I explored the depths of a river ice sculpture, my imagination running free in the chill chasms shot through the diamond ice.

Unforgiving moorland waters chased around my feet as the night mists rose and faded in a solar salute.

Borne from wild waters mating with biting frost, nature’s ephemeral creation glowed with an inner starlight, radiant amidst the gloom and dullness of a solstice dawn.

I journeyed deep and far into the macro- cosmos, venturing through the velvety inkiness, the royal blues and the sapphire jewels glinting from the stellar sunbursts and jack frost teeth.

Steel hues holding promise of summer blues.

Today’s Mesmerising Moment is by nature photographer and videographer Jason Smalley.

Jason is a true nature spirit who creates beautiful light drawings that always seem to have a touch of magic about them. You can see more of his ice photography here and more of his nature photography here. You can follow Jason on Twitter too – @Wildscape_Jay.
