Stoat - Mustela erminia | Mesmerising Moments

Solitary walk. Desolate upland track, wild – remote. Birds call.

Rippling over the path – a ribbon of silk – blown in the wind. Colours creamy white, deepest brown, minky taupe – pretty. Surprised – smile.

Wait – no wind – what on earth!!

Undulating, constantly moving, twisting, lifting.

Dog spots it – interested……I grab her……caught.

Chattering – laughing almost – a stoat family playing.

Leaping, sparring, rolling.

I am mesmerised.

Today’s Mesmerising Moment is by guest contributor Sandie Craig of Woadworks.

Sandie is inspired daily by nature tucked high up in the wild beauty of the North Pennines where her artisan business creates 100% natural organic products from their own or locally sourced herbs and botanicals.

You can read more from Sandie on her blog and follow her on Twitter – @woadworks.
