Wylie's Baths | Mesmerising Moments

The pool is full, endlessly replenished by the pounding ocean.

I try to keep my balance against the crashing as the hiss of a thousand spitting cat’s rains over the rock, thundering foam races towards me.

Knees buckle under the salty onslaught, another hump rises behind. It’s time to jump.

A moment of flying freedom before senses are dampened and I hear the roar in my chest, taste the tang as eyes sting, kick hard for the surface.

Floating like the clouds above me, washed by the ceaseless tide that’s travelled 3000 miles, adrift on Wylie’s ocean,

I am mesmerised.

This picture was taken in 2007 during a trip to Wylie’s Baths just outside Sydney, Australia.

A powerful dip in a mesmerising swimming pool – highly recommend a visit if you ever go to Sydney.
