blue sky thinking

Blue Sky | Mesmerising Moments

For the first time in many weeks the sky is blue. Constant clouds fade in the westerly breeze.

Lying beneath the trees on sun-warmed grass my eyes dive into the oceanic depths.

Air the colour of the sea flowing over me, reminding: we are at the bottom of this ocean.

Computer heated cells, sedated by the trustworthy sky, sink slowly into an electrical unconsciousness. Throat-clearing, communicating, mentally relaxing lapis lazuli becalms my mind.

The picture was taken on a very sunny June day on Lundy Island off the coast of Devon. It wasn’t possible to get a photograph of the Mesmerising Moment that occured today as I was too busy experiencing it.

Meredith of The Enchanted Earth wrote recently about the balance between capturing a Mesmerising Moment with one’s camera and fully experiencing it from the other side of the lens.

You are so sweet. Thank you for the link love.

Sounds like you definitely were able to relax and truly live this beautiful moment at “the bottom of this ocean.” Lovely, reads like a prose poem. 🙂

Your posts are timely, Meredith.
I am often held from a Mesmerising Moment by the thought of “I ought to capture this”, forgetting about the moment and leaping for the camera.
Other times I forget to document a delicious moment in nature because I’m too busy living it.
It’s lovely to find the balance between experiencing and sharing.
