in Plants, Weather

Back Garden | Mesmerising Moments

I watch where I walk as I stalk up the path. There are babies all around. Snails slide out of their shady patches revelling in the liquid ground.

It has been raining on and off for days.

Parched plants, wilting in the early summer sun, hang still through the weight of water. The toy-strewn, fire-pitted, back-yard lawn shakes off it’s June-brown sunburn with the refreshing lotion of rain.

Green, growing, glowing.

In the doorway, between two worlds, I hear the hiss and plops as water drops from the sky. Leaves bounce as though tiny insects dance on their surface. Plums swell from green to golden on the self-seeding tree.

The photograph was taken on a camera phone during this Mesmerising Moment.
